What does it cost to extend your visa?
We read the fees on 1 September 2026. In South Africa, VFS asks R2 175 per person. That is R425 for the visa. Plus R1 750 for VFS itself. Older pages still say R1 975. Our number is newer.
What does the visa office ask?
We started a real booking. That was on 1 September 2026. It was for Cape Town, South Africa. For a stay of three months or less. The site showed these fees. Visa Fee: R425. Service Fee: R1 750. Total: R2 175. That is per person. This money goes to VFS and Home Affairs. None of it comes to us.
Why do other pages say R1 975?
Fees change. In 2023, people paid R1 995 with SMS. We saw the receipts. The service fee was R1 550 then. Now the booking site asks R1 750. The visa office’s info page lags. In August 2026 it still showed R1 550. So trust the total inside your booking. That is the true fee for your day.
What extras will the site offer?
The booking site offers two extras. An SMS for R40. A seat in a lounge for R750. You need none of them. The boxes start empty. Your choice. We read this on 1 September 2026.
How can you pay?
The site gives two ways. “Online”: a bank card, Visa or Mastercard. Your card must allow international payments. Or “Pay At Bank”. We read this on 1 September 2026. Did a payment fail? Read: what if your visa payment fails?

Our help is a different thing. It is optional. You can do it all alone. Our price: R1 899 for one person. R2 899 for a family of up to four. Tax is in the price. Our price is public. You see it before you pay. The VFS fees stay extra. The two costs never mix.

Can I pay at the centre?
The booking site gave two ways only. "Online" or "Pay At Bank". We read that on 1 September 2026. We found no third way. So plan to pay when you book.
Does a family pay once?
Not at VFS. Its fees are per person. Each person pays R2 175. We saw a family's receipts: one each. Our service is different. One payment covers up to four people. That is R2 899.
